DAP Meeting to assess the amended proposal for Coles development

I have just had confirmation from NPSP Council that the DAP meeting of 18 August will assess the amended application of the developers of the Coles supermarket complex.

The Development Assessment Panel meets on the third Monday of each month at 7pm in the Mayor's Parlour, Norwood Town Hall, 175 The Parade, Norwood. The meeting is open for the public to attend, so please come if you are able to do so.

 To celebrate the installation of signage at the Norwood Cork Tree, the supporters of the campaign to save the tree gathered for a group photo on 14th April 2024. Signage installed for the Norwood Cork Tree

 Signage was installed for the Norwood Cork Tree on 28 March 2024 by the site owner, Australasian Property Developments. Cork Tree in June 2023

Work on the development is approaching completion and Coles is scheduled to open on 21 June.  The developer promised to install signage for the historic Norwood Cork Tree, but we haven't received any notification about when signage will be provided.  The cork tree and the river red gum dominate the car park, and no new trees have been planted to replace the large plane trees that provided some shade.  Under the current care regime the cork tree is flourishing. We hope care will continue into the future. It is such a beautiful and unusual tree for this area.
